The Bay Tree Hotel has welcomed visitors since 1565. Originally built as Elizabeth Is Chancellors Country House history is everywhere, heavy oak doors open onto worn flagstones, original beams and traditional inglenook roaring fireplaces. Stone walls with woven tapestries, antique furniture and pictures take you through the ages of the beautiful hotel. Wind your way up the old wooden staircase to one of the charming bedrooms, each with their own name and unique character. All rooms are individually furnished with rich fabrics and antiques, some with four poster beds and others overlooking the pretty walled rose and herb gardens. Dine on superb, awarding winning British cuisine in the candlit restaurant overlooking the rose and herb garden.

The restaurant in the Bay Tree Hotel has gained one AA rosette for the quality of its British cuisine and service. The walls are hung with tapestries and limited edition 'Flint' watercolours. Flagstone floors reflect the timelessness of the ambience. The are stunning views onto the walled rose and herb garden which can be accessed directly from the restaurant on the patio.
Built as Elizabeth I's Chancellor's Country House, The Bay Tree is still being used for business today. The Conservatory opens onto walled gardens and is an inspired conference venue for up to 40 delegates. The Hawthorne room with its original open walled fire place and ancient oak table is an excellent room for Boardroom meetings.
