For more than a century, this romantic wine country resort has attracted travelers with its beautiful Mission-style buildings, attentive service and European-style spa.The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn has been the romantic haven for those seeking pleasure and health. The hotel was built in 1926, an architecturally accurate replica of a california Mission. Major renovations in 1981, and 1997 returned the landmark Inn to its 1920s grandeur. From the San Francisco Airport, take 380 west to 280 north. Bear left onto 19th Avenue and follow across the Golden Gate Bridge (101 north) In the Novato area, exit on Highway 37 east to Vallejo, Napa and Sonoma. At 2nd light on Highway 37, go left onto Highway 121 north. Continue on Highway 121, which bears to the right at the blinking red light. Turn left onto Highway 12 and continue to the Sonoma Plaza. At the Plaza, you will come to a "T" stop; turn left onto West Napa Street (also marked Highway 12). Continue west on W. Napa Street for 1 mile. The road will come to a fork; stay to the right (marked Highway 12) and continue 2 miles north to Boyes Boulevard. Turn left onto Boyes Boulevard. The hotel entrance is the second driveway on the left.

The Big 3 Diner is located on the north corner of the Inn's grounds and has been pleasing customers for over 75 years with its casual bistro atmosphere, hearty country breakfasts and eclectic American cuisine. Our famous Lemon Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Big 3 Platters, Barbecued Baby Back Ribs and Pizzas are all specialties. All of our recipes are available upon request. The Big 3 Diner's outstanding cuisine has resulted in its consistently being rated one of the Inn's best restaurants. Guided Bike Tours are available through hotel. Reservations are required for all hikes and walks. Must reserve by 8pm the evening prior for all bike tours. Morning Bike Tour - 11 mile round trip. Tour the back roads of the beautiful Sonoma Valley. Vineyards surround you as you ride through the oldest vineyard in California, Gundlach-Bundschu Vineyards. Enjoy a short break as well as a lovely view of the valley. Bike-Hike-Bike Intermediate Tour. This journey starts with a 5 mile bike ride from the hotel lobby to Bartholomew Park Winery. Once you reach your destination, you will take a 3 mile hike into the picturesque hills behind the winery. You will then have the opportunity to explore the winery's museum before your return ride to the Inn. Bikes equipped with packs and water. Helmets are provided and required.
Sonoma National Golf CourseThe championship 18-hole golf course measures 7087 yards and is routed through 177 acres of native oaks, eucalyptus and redwoods. The Sonoma National Golf Club was designed by Sam Whiting and Willie Watson, the architects of the famed Lake Course at San Francisco's Olympic Club. The course was originally built by the Inn in 1926. Golf Course Attire: Collared shirts and bermuda-length shorts are required. Absolutely no denim or metal-spiked shoes.
